Preserving the integrity of Shinshin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryōhō is the central purpose of Dentō Reiki Kyōkai’s training seminars. To maintain the depth and consistency of Usui Sensei’s original teachings, our organization operates through the framework of the traditional Japanese iemoto (家元) system. In our seminars, this system serves as an institutional structure for standardized methods of instruction, clear educational criteria, and high practical standards.

Within the iemoto framework, learning is treated as a practical discipline rather than a passive course of study. In the early years of Reiki Ryōhō, instruction was deeply experiential: students met regularly, practiced consistently, and progressed only as their practical application, experience, and character matured.

Our training seminars are structured to preserve this hands-on, experiential foundation within a framework adapted for modern schedules. For this reason, advancement within Dentō Reiki Kyōkai requires more than attending a seminar or receiving a certificate. Each level of training includes specific practice requirements that must be completed before a student is eligible to continue.

Accordingly, students complete and document a minimum number of treatments between levels. These practical requirements exist to ensure that classroom instruction matures into genuine capability. As hands-on experience grows, confidence and skill follow naturally, allowing the techniques to become second nature and preparing students for the increased responsibilities of subsequent training.

By combining the structured standards of the iemoto model with direct seminar instruction, documented practice, and progressive responsibility, Dentō Reiki Kyōkai provides a grounded environment for studying Shinshin Kaizen Usui Reiki Ryōhō as a living art — honoring Usui Sensei’s teachings through dedicated, high-standards of practice.
